Diffuser
An aid that diffuses direct light, i.e. softens it, is called a diffuser. A diffuser creates – as the name suggests – diffuse light. Extreme light-shadow contrasts, glare or disturbing reflections are avoided with a Diffuser avoided. On a lamp, the diffuser reduces the lamp luminance.
