Lighting Level

Share
The lighting level (also brightness level) describes the average illuminance in a room. It is measured in Lux Luminour efficacy emitted by a lamp , as well as the degree of reflection of the room surfaces (i.e. walls, ceilings, floors). The lower the reflection level is and the more difficult the visual task, the higher it should be be the illuminance. For example, a white ceiling or wall has a reflectance of 85 percent, whereas the value of a light wooden wall is around 50 percent and that of a brick wall is only 25 percent. A good level of lighting is created through the optimal interaction of light sources and the environment. For strenuous visual tasks such as reading, writing or computer work, a high level of lighting is recommended to counteract possible symptoms of fatigue.
