ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
The PH Artichoke Pendant Lamp features 72 metal leaves meticulously arranged in 12 precise rows, each with six leaves, ensuring flawless, non-glaring light from every angle. The name "Artichoke" reflects its characteristic design, which distributes light both inwards and outwards, creating a wonderfully pleasing ambiance.
In 1958, when tasked with creating a pendant for the state-of-the-art Copenhagen restaurant Langelinie Pavilion, Poul Henningsen rose to the challenge. Drawing inspiration from his earlier work on the PH Septima Glass Light, developed between 1927-31, he crafted the PH Artichoke in just three months. The PH Septima Glass Light featured shades made from clear and sandblasted glass sections, laying the foundation for the iconic Artichoke design.
Today, the PH Artichoke remains a true design icon, adorning the Langelinie Pavilion in the Danish capital, where visitors can still marvel at its beauty and craftsmanship.
