Dipping Light was born as an experiment – dipping a lit light bulb into paint several times – that turned into a lamp. The result is multiple layers of paint that draw concentric circles and trap the light, softening its intensity. The paint becomes a screen, colouring the light and giving it texture. This artisanal process makes each lamp unique and exclusive.
The Dipping Light celebrates colour, while continuing to illuminate with three new sober, versatile shade finishes—cream, chocolate, and burgundy. These new finishes offer a more muted and gradual chromatic palette that maintains the essence of the Dipping Light: the cream finish projects warmth, the chocolate blends into less saturated designs, and the burgundy offers a quiet sophistication. These new, harmonious colours dialogue with each other and with the existing collection, and their visual coherence makes them a versatile choice for any project.
This version can work as a wall light or a ceiling light, depending on where it is placed. A design that offers a base in gold and a downward light which is dimmed by the colour of the shade.
Beyond its function as a lamp, the Dipping Light seeks to excite. When it’s turned on, its different shades of paint sift the light, creating a magical ambient effect. When it’s off, its colored glass sphere is an object charged with beauty, and eyecatching design piece for a shelf, bedside, or table. The various layers of paint draw concentric circles and capture the light, moderating its intensity. The paint becomes the shade, colouring and texturizing the light.
